Service Description: Surface Temperature measures
the Earth’s surface temperature (units Kelvin converted to Fahrenheit) and is an important geophysical parameter in global energy balance studies and hydrologic modeling. Surface temperature is also useful for monitoring crop and vegetation health, and extreme heat events such as natural disasters (e.g., volcanic eruptions, wildfires), and urban heat island effects.
Data consists of the Landsat 9 imagery for July 23 2022 for the entirety of NJ. 3 images for Path/Rows 14/31 - 32- 33. Original imagery merged into a single raster image and values converted to Kelvin from the original 16-bit integer values using the multiplicative scale factor (0.00341802) and additive offset (149). Values were then converted from Kelvin to Fahrenheit.
