Service Description: In fall of 2019, the NOAA Hydrographic Survey vessel Fairweather conducted multibeam acoustic bathymetry and backscatter surveys in offshore offshore waters of northern California near the head of the submarine Noyo Canyon. These mapping cruises were conducted for EXPRESS, an inter-agency federal and non-federal oceanographic research cooperative of the U.S. Geological Survey, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, and Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute.
This set of shaded relief images was generated from the bathymetric survey sheet W00476, which are publicly available to view and download through the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information bathymetric data archive.
