Service Description: This Tile Imagery Layer features New Orleans, Louisiana, and its surrounding metropolitan area. The layer showcases the city the day after Hurricane Katrina hit, and may be used to view flooding zones in the area. It ranges from a 1:591,657,528 scale to a 1:4,514 scale, or a 0 to 17 zoom level range. 19684 tiles were generated in the creation of this tile imagery layer.

The original image was taken by a high-resolution satellite on August 30, 2005, the day after Hurricane Katrina flooded the city. It was downloaded from USGS EarthExplorer.
