Service Description:

A 1-kilometer raster file with 1 band containing an estimate of annual plastic waste generation in kilograms. Values are derived from the national rate of plastic waste generation per person and the population density per square kilometer and do not incorporate the spatial distribution of plastic waste generated by non-individuals, though the total mass of plastic waste is representative of the total national mass of plastic waste generated annually by all sources.

The data were created to support World Bank circular economy work in the West Africa Coastal Area (WACA): West Africa, Benin, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania, Nigeria, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, Togo.
