The original idea for creating this dataset came from the New Hampshire Department of Fish and Game report titled Trails for People and Wildlife. I modified their basic approach of compiling habitat edges, sensitive habitats, rare species, riparian areas, and slopes, into a slightly more complicated version made to fit the needs of the Andrews Community Forest Interim Town Forest Steering Committe. I also want to give credit to my advisor, Dr. Jeff Hughes, for planting the idea of creating a heat map based off of wildlife hotspots into my head, and my classmates Meredith Naughton and Grace Glynn for giving me feedback while creating this dataset and the feature classes that preceded it.
