Service Description:

These RIFT runs are based on p06m_2019071112f.grb.
The RIFT runs starts at hour 036 of the forecast and runs for 3 days of ppt + 2 additional days. These runs will be out to an additional 7 days (10 days total). Given the short period after the end of rainfall, downstream movement of river peaks will not be captured in these.
90-m resolution, no infiltration, no storm surge. Reporting has soils saturated in the NOLA region. These are WGS84. The gdb for these RIFT results have been dissolved and merged. RIFT was run 1) for the HUCs to the west of the Mississippi and 2) for the HUCs including the Mississippi and to the east. The rain is distributed evenly over each 6-hours forecast period with 72 hours of rain and the runs continued for an additional 2 days after the rain ends.
CaveatsSimulation results are based on forecasted precipitation data and are subject to changeThe impacts of flooding prior to the arrival of new precipitation is not included Stormwater drainage systems and pumps are not included Soils are assumed saturated and subject to minimal infiltration Storm surge and tidal dynamics are not includedFlood extents in areas impacted by either should be used with caution
The peak flood depth product is a representation of the peak flood depth at every grid cell, regardless of when the peak occurred. 90-m resolution elevation data was used for this simulation. Local-scale topographic effects may not be captured in the simulation.
Where data is available, National Levee Database is incorporated into the simulation. Accuracy of levee representation is subject to the accuracy of the NLDB.
Simulation results are intended to be used to estimate potential infrastructure impacts. Use of the data for any other purpose should be done with caution. These data are not intended to be used for life-preserving purposes. · Dam operations are not included in the simulation but may greatly impact downstream flooding.
