The Vegetation Classification and Mapping Program of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife initiated the collection of this imagery to test the use of drones for mapping vegetation in small areas and to test the use of high resolution imagery to help in calibrating signatures for photointerpretation with coarser imagery. The imagery will be used in vegetation mapping.
