Service Description: Source image of the historical map is provided by Carleton College library and georeferemced by Carleton College Environmental Studies (ENTS) GIS Lab. Referece data include the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) grid boundary, parcel boundary, Carleton College trails, and a 1938 aerial photo georeferenced by ENTS GIS Lab. The alignment between the map and the 2013 high resolution aerial photo and the georeferenced 1938 aerial photo is pretty good at the scale of 1:2,400 and smaller. Minor misalignment is observed at various locations at the scale of 1:1,200 and larger. Spline transformation was used to georeferenced the original map image to the NAD 1927 UTM Zone 15N coordinate system. The georeferenced map was then re-projected to the NAD 1983 UTM Zone 15N coordinate system with the nearest neighbor resampling.
