Service Description: We extracted species richness values for each EPA level II ecoregion separately, classifying the locations that fell into the top 20% of the distribution in blue. The result was a map of ecoregion-specific biodiversity, ensuring equal representation of all ecoregions relative to size. Species richness is based on the combination of 1923 imperiled species ranges from publicly available sources (FWS, IUCN, USGS).
