Subject: This map of a study area centered around Wells, NV, shows a collection of polygons derived from sage grouse habitat suitability. Suitability was analyzed from various datasets: elevation, slope, distance to water, distance to competing vegetation and established grouse, distance to roads (as a proxy for human inhabitance) and vegetation types. This map also includes an undisturbed layer, which excludes roads and cheatgrass occurrences from data analysis, serving as a stand in for habitat that may exist if human disturbances were not present. This map is intended to provide areas of increased monitoring and grouse conservation.
