Service Description: The map is based on the combination of Z-scores for landform variety, elevation range, wetland score and soil diversity that were calculated within each geophysical setting. The landscape diversity is calculated based on pixel by pixel comparison between all images, using the image for Z-score of landform variety as the base for comparison. Pixels that have values of elevation range higher than the values of landform variety are replaced by the average between two times the landform variety summed with elevation range. The same procedure is carried out between each image for wetland score and then soil diversity, resulting in a map that aggregates the higher values for Z-score. The final result show areas that can be considered more diverse based on how many standard deviations the value is distant from the mean for each geophysical settings.

Document Info: - Title: Landscape diversity (Z-scores by geophysical settings)
- Author: clicia.barata@tnc.org_TNC
- Comments:
- Subject: Landscape diversity calculated within geophysical settings for Brazil. The map is generated by combining the values of Z-scores for landform variety, elevation range, wetland score and soil diversity. The values of each pixel represent how diverse the landscape is locally, compared within each individual geophysical settings. Z-score of local connectedness averaged with landscape diversity will generate the map of landscape resilience.
