Service Description:

The important areas to reduce mammal extinction layer shows the top 10% most important areas to protect to reduce threatened terrestrial mammal (861 species) extinction risk. The layer was developed by integrating habitat suitability models with species-area curves (probability of persistence for given habitat size) within Zonation prioritization software. Eddie Game (TNC), Heini Kujala (U. Melbourne), Luca Santini (Institute of Research on Terrestrial Ecosystems), Piero Visconti (International Institute for Applied System Analyses) and Nick Wolff (TNC) contributed to this research.
