"description" : "“Climate Stress” is an index derived from the number of climate models that project future climate conditions will be more extreme than the observed range of historical variability. The historical range of variability was estimated for each location based on 20-year running averages of climate from 1895 to 2005. The future climate projections were derived from 11 general circulation models for the 20-year period from 2046 to 2065 under the A2 emissions scenario. The climate variables included are annual precipitation, January minimum temperatures, and July maximum temperatures. For a full description of the methods and source data, see http://www.esajournals.org/doi/full/10.1890/ES11-00044.1.",
