"description" : "UNCLASSIFIED Liberia’s road network is approximately 10,000 km, and reportedly comprised of 734 km of primary roads, 2,350 km of secondary roads, and 5,700 km of tertiary/feeder roads. Less than 10% of the country’s road network is paved and a reported 86% of those paved roads are in poor condition. Approximately 6.9% of roads in rural areas are paved. The main roads located in Monrovia are in acceptable condition; however, many of the roads found across the rest of Liberia are impassable during the 6-month rainy season, often needing to be re-graded each year. Many areas of Liberia are inaccessible even with 4x4 vehicles. Road infrastructure plans are inadequate as they are limited by funding. Frequent flooding during the rainy season restricts construction and maintenance efforts. As a whole, Liberia’s road infrastructure is extremely poor and is largely dilapidated.
