Service Description: Mitch5sat.tif is a satellite image showing Hurricane Mitch on October 31, 1998 as it downgraded from a tropical storm to a tropical depression, with winds down to 38 miles per hour or less. The center of the storm is on shore, over Honduras, but the spiral shape is gone. This high-resolution photograph of Mitch from space was taken by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), in partnership with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), using special storm-tracking satellites.
