Service Description: Mitch2sat.tif is a satellite image showing Hurricane Mitch on October 26, 1998 as it developed from a category 4 to a category 5 hurricane, with winds ranging from 131-155 miles per hour. The eye of the hurricane is about 110 miles off the eastern coast of Honduras, over the Caribbean Sea. This high-resolution photograph of Mitch from space was taken by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), in partnership with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), using special storm-tracking satellites.
