Service Description: The Gully Erosion layer is a component of the 'Indicative Transition zone' (version1.0). This is part of the 'Guide to Transitioning Land to Permanent Vegetation Cover'.

The Indicative Transition Zone (version 1.0) Layer maps moderate to severe landslide susceptibility with high connectivity to waterways and gullies. The land described by the maps is a high priority for transition to permanent vegetative cover.  The layers were built in two stages; first the morphometric landslide-to-stream connectivity layers were produced. These were later adjusted based on new gully information.

The Indicative Transition Zone V1.0 Layer has been developed as a non-regulatory tool for assisting landowners and land managers in the Tairāwhiti region to transition such land into permanent vegetative cover.

This layer is an indicative guide only and has no regulatory impact.
